Book Review: Reasonable Doubt #1 by Whitney Gracia Williams

Reasonable Doubt: Volume 1 (Reasonable Doubt, #1)Publication date: March 31st, 2014

Format: Kindle, 78 pages

Synopsis: My cock has an appetite.

A huge and very particular appetite: Blonde, curvy, and preferably not a fucking liar… (Although, that’s a story for another day.)

As a high-profile lawyer, I don’t have time to waste on relationships, so I fulfill my needs by anonymously chatting and sleeping with women I meet online.

My rules are simple: One dinner. One night. No repeats.

This is only casual sex. Nothing more. Nothing less.

At least it was , until “Alyssa”…

She was supposed to be a 27-year-old lawyer, a book hoarder, and completely unattractive. She was supposed to be someone I shared law advice with late at night, someone I could trust with details of my weekly escapades.

But then she came into my firm for an interview—a college-intern interview, and everything fucking changed…

My review: One dirty talking arsehole. One relatively innocent college student. One explosive relationship.

There is something so tasty about a man who talks dirty to a woman.  Throw that dirty talking man into a well fitted suit and it gets even better.  Throw that dirty talking man in the suit into situations full of discomfort and confusion and we have Andrew Hamilton, ladies and gentlemen.

Andrew Hamilton has been hurt in the past and he doesn’t want to get hurt again or get into a relationship of any sort in any way.  He has joined a website where he talks to women online and his rules are one dinner, one night and no repeats.

He spends his days working as a high-profile lawyer and his evenings chatting to women online and he has a new one every week.  He’s a man-whore but he’s a man-whore who knows what he wants.

What he wants is Alyssa.

Alyssa is someone he met on a lawyer chat site, she’s 27 and someone who has got under his skin in the worst way.  He wants her like a dieter wants cake and he’d prefer it if it was now.

6 months after they started talking late at night, Andrew sits in on an intern interview and his perfect woman walks in. Blonde, curvy and a mouth made for sin shame that she’s an undergraduate intern.  Then he realises that this intern is in fact the woman whose thighs he wants his head between and he can’t understand it. Oh and her name is Aubrey.

She lied about who she was and he still wants her.  His firm takes her on as an intern – his intern and he’s an absolute arse to her. After work one day, he goes to her house and they fuck; there’s no love to it just a simple fuck or so he thinks.

He can’t get her out of his system and after knowing that she lied to him he’s not feeling all that nice but he still does it again and again.

This was very well written, the prose flowed well with the dialogue and there was only one character I didn’t like much.  Andrew’s character was written perfectly as was Aubrey’s, they both bounced from each other and the sexual tension between the pair was stellar.

My rating: 4 stars
